  • I can’t find a picture to post but recently the building fad in my country for single family homes is cubes. Literally, cubes. The houses are made of grouped cubic structures. No rounded surfaces, no decorative details. A bit like watered down brutalism.

Can’t imagine those houses aging well.

Meanwhile, old stone houses just look… good. Renovated, awsome. Abandoned, creepy. No ghosts though.

  • Can we get an example? Because after reading the thread I am still as unknowing as I was about what you are trying to start a conversation on.

It is widely accepted that music, as an artistic expression, as been used to convey emotion, both to arise it and to lessen it, since its inception. To argue that “uncurated or just music in general” can be “overstimulating” makes quite the claim.

Music and songs are easily associated to states of mind and entire genres exist around one specific emotion. From classical, to blues, heavy metal, fado, jazz, ethnic, every song or music ever written by a human being conveys meaning.

If, and this is a elephant sized if, what you are trying to debate on is what most will call “elevator music”, that non descript, hollow, shallow, shell of ordered sounds thinly veiled to resemble music, then, personally, I’m glad it not a much more divulged genre.

If not, then, please, give us an example.

I’ll leave an example of what I listen to when I need a sound wall to fill the background while I work with my hands.
    Dead Combo - Movimentos Perpétuos

Or, for something a bit more traditional:

    Carlos Paredes - Verdes Anos

  • I understand. Thank you for the clarification.

And, not to deter you from your goal, you have a lot to pick from.

There is a lot of background from which you can pick and build from but what would be the end result you are envisioning? I can tell I got to know a particular “tradition” where no rituals exist; initiates undergo a sort of tutelage under more experienced individuals but at some point it is supposed for each individual to set out their own path. No dogma, no saints, demons or higher powers; they just take the universe as a power source and it is the people tapping into it that can use it for “good” or “bad” endings.

The wiccans I got to know were essentially neo pagans, drawing from a favourite personal pantheon and ancient culture. I knew a Neo-aegiptyian priestess, a couple of neo-druids, a neo-norse shaman, one new age witch and one neo-meso american priest. Each just associated with an ancient culture they most closely identified with and delved into it. I watched magic circle drawing, offerings of food and items to gods and even assisted in a ritual of personal sacrifice, through fasting, sweating and intense physical exertion.

But I sense this is not what you expect as information. Feel free to pose more specific questions.

  • I don’t know what my most played song currently is but I can tell you what has been the most played for the last 15 years and it’s this one.

Every single time I install a computer this is the soundtrack to test the audio. At first it was annoying, the dog barked, kids screamed and the elderly cursed me. Now, of I don’t play I’m asked if I’m feeling under the weather.
