multicolorKnight@lemmy.worldOPto cats@lemmy.world•Emma just came in my office to tell me she loves meEnglish12·10 days agoThat’s her sister Lizzie. When she vocalizes, it’s always an exclamation.
“There’s a strange cat outside!”
“I hate the vacuum cleaner, could you not?!”
multicolorKnight@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Pros/cons to legalize marijuana in a countryEnglish21·1 month agoBackground: I haven’t used weed in decades, I have no personal interest in its legal status.
I can’t think of a single bad thing that has happened. People are more open about smoking, you can smell it in the street sometimes. I live in a tourist destination, there are ads everywhere for dispensaries. I assume getting high is at least part of the attraction for visitors.
Also, I assume it has had a negative effect on illegal drugs - why bother? - but I wouldn’t know anyway.
Yes, I supported it at the time, have not changed my view.
She knows it, too. She usually does her best “Oh, do you like me?” look, like this, when she catches you looking at her.
She really likes boxes, too…

multicolorKnight@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Disregarding "the American dream" what's some stuff about America that still makes you proud?English61·4 months agoI agree, the majority of Americans are decent, not racist or various forms of genophobic, and resisting as best they can. The government and media has merged into a monster. ii looks huge and scary; that’s by design. If you give up hope, they have won.

multicolorKnight@lemmy.worldto Board Games@sopuli.xyz•Which board games have you been playing this week? (3 Feb)English2·4 months agoPlayed Grand Austria Hotel for the first time. It’s cute, and there are enough different ways to score that it will likely have good long term play.
I think I could be happy ending up in either… Street tacos vs. Tim Horton’s.
multicolorKnight@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you get through the winter?English2·5 months agoThat’s the problem, it doesn’t snow enough now… I used to be able to XC on trails in my hometown, now the snow is too thin and patchy. The ice is too thn on the lakes to be trustworthy. We get an extra 3 months of stick season, almost no snow season.
Yes! The art is pretty, and the play is pretty chill.
My wife and I play Tokaido Duo frequently, the game play is different (you roll dice to determine your move), but specifically for two players.
Also, if you like Tokaido, you might like Parks, which has has similar play and pretty art.

Not an open source phone as you say, but it is at least open source software, running on hardware with published specs. It should be capable of everything you want.

multicolorKnight@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your work schedule like during the holidays?English4·6 months agoThe company I work for has few fixed holidays, but lots of discretionary time off, and very little direct customer service, so it’s an individual choice. Many people take the week between Christmas and New Years off. I don’t; I’d rather have extra time off when the weather is warmer and I can play outside.
multicolorKnight@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If investing in the S&P 500 is such a surefire way to make money, then why isn't everyone doing it?English132·6 months agoIf anyone says anything is “a surefire way to make money”, they are looking for a Greater Fool on which to unload their position so they can actually make the money.
Not putting my hand in there, that’s for sure.
