  • What has recently pushed me more left path are the comorbidities associated with ASD. I score very high on ASD tests, but those never feel real enough or too easy to know what the answer leads to so therefore invalid. Some comorbidities and other traits I have, which alone not all that conclusive but paired with the aforementioned tests, do give me a stronger sense of confidence. These include:

    • Childhood temporal lobe epilepsy (Dejavu seizures are trippy!)
    • Diagnosed anxiety
    • Depression (possibly related to other diagnosis)
    • Sleep disorders - both ends insomnia, and generally very light sleeper - I could do a whole post about this one alone…
    • IBS - If I feel it, it’s got to go.
    • Leukemia (cancer free for 2 yrs now!)
    • Shy kid - need I say more?
    • Dyslexia (corrected through years of special reading time with the nice lady down the hall)
    • BS and MS in Science related field – both finished with 4.0GPA - I was 1 of 8 with this GPA during BS ceremony in class of nearly 11k
    • also, am a research scientist (Working among the diagnosed and how comfortable I was with them was one of the first signs I took notice of…)
    • eczema on both hands (OCD-lite? - washing hands 30-50 times a day is normal right?)
    • I go soooo deep in my hobbies, all thousand of them…
    • primary source of conflict in my relationships is that I take things too literal.
    • Auditory processing disorder - how people operate in noisy environments is beyond me.

I could go on and on but the main point is that the tests alone kept me on the right path, it was some of these other diagnoses and traits the steer me more left path.
