I’m using a laptop with strix halo as my main machine (ryzen 395 in hp zbook ultra g1a). Came from macbook pros and compile large c++ repos frequently. This thing is a beast! Running debian 13.

The only thing it’s noticably worse than a macbook is its battery life. Running local llms, play high end games. All on 55-70W TDP.

Was a part time linux user since 2005 but Apple’s “Liquid Ass” finally made me switch full time to Linux :D

Disabled it in BIOS, most useless feature in a laptop. Yoga like laptops that can flip the screen 18 degrees, sure. But a regular laptop - just why?

Thanks for the explanation, I always cringe on AI slop, but do get duped ocasionally. Guess the poor quality and the compression artefacts tricked me this time. Will be more vigilant before posting in the future.

One of the reasons I went to lemmy in the first place is all the AI and invasive Ads on other platforms, ugh.

you think this is AI? looks like someone slapped it together in GIMP quickly? found it on some random facebook group, but given how fb and twitter is overrun with AI crap, you never know? :/
