I had the same issue. The fix that was suggested to me was to uncheck sticky settings. That moves settings towards the top of the lateral menu.

No. I want to but I’m really having difficulty getting the appearance to be as legible as Sequoia. Dark mode is too dark and light mode is too light. It also bugs me that the new folder colors are layered on top of the old lighter blue color (you can see it when changing colors). This is all on a M4 Mac Mini.
If I can’t make this work for my old eyes, I’ll likely sign off as a Mac user after 25 years. I’m finding Fedora Linux w/ KDE to be pretty appealing.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•strange phenomenon - warm door handleEnglish
22·2 months agoAre there access controls on this door such as a badge/RFID reader? I’ve seen electric strikes on access controlled doors stay pretty warm.

Boost for Lemmy@lemmy.world•Boost settings inaccessible with three-button navigationEnglish
5·11 months agoI unchecked General -> Lateral Menu -> Sticky Settings and that moved settings up to where it’s accessible. Thanks! Still not crazy about how content can hide under the top and bottom bars though.
I’ve tried gesture navigation several times and it’s just not for me. I much prefer the three-button nav option.

GrapheneOS has Storage Scopes which allow you to define which folders an app can access. In this case, you’d give your media app access to that folder but not your gallery app. Pretty handy but it’s only on Pixels and one Motorola phone at the moment.
