Any decent software developer would like to see how their software is used, to make it even better. I guess your reason here is, that since they want to make their software better, you should not use it!? It doesn’t make sense, unless you are deeply paranoid.

Someone is busy trying to make people uneasy about Mozilla Thunderbird and Firefox.

This smells like a smear campaign, and sadly enough, the feddiverse is buying into it - big time!

I don’t mind giving Mozilla some telemetry, because I actually have no reason to believe, that they are not anonymizing it, and that they use it to do anything else than make their product better for us. Can anyone show anything else? No, they can’t…

This is probably paid propaganda, from someone who wants you to leave Mozilla - the prime organisation that fights for internet users rights and privacy.

Well, Mozilla makes contact to pages because it checks for your calendar, your mail, updates to your addons, updates to the browser/mail client, sends anonymous telemetry, that helps them make the software better, and doesn’t compromise you in any way. If you have addons installed, they might contact different sites to update blocking lists, change settings to bypass some youtube setting and so forth.

Get informed, and not by haters here, don’t panic!

Still using it, still enjoying it, not so flimsy and bothurt as many users are…

What a whining “opinion”, and opening up for others to whine too…

You know what? Not a single one, can find a browser that does everything you want, the way you want it done, and only that. _Now, grow up, and then start influencing the best browser, who has fought for decades for users rights and privacy. The reason they have to compromise a bit, is because users just don’t care - in general.

Is this post more about trying to discredit/bash Mozilla/Firefox, than it is about explaining what’s happening and why? It seems that way.

I’m not worried at all, about this. Firefox is still Open Source. You can be OS, and still collect some data.

Go to preferences, general settings, and scroll down…

I see 24-hour format. It makes sense, since iso-date format uses 24-hour format too… In preferences, have you tried setting the UI-handling of dates to your own, instead of the systems?

Don’t need it. Just need a good, unbiased search engine, kind of like what google was at first… But I like that you listen to your users. :-)

And the CEO get’s too much money in general. Still, they are “the” leader of the Open Source solutions, and not just in the browser area…

You should, technically, take a look at their report of money-spending… But hey, feel free to support anything else. The big tech companies loves a divided opposition.

Sounds good for Firefox and Mozilla. I support it.

Thanks to Mozilla for giving us all these things, and showing us that they are possible to make and use.

Want them to stay alive, then give Mozilla some money. It’s typical childish to blame the free software, to not spend a lot of money to keep your behind cost-free…

I would hazard a guess that you think you were quite clever, going for the man instead of the ball. Therefore, by my own definition, you are not worth wasting more time on.

In 20 years, while still sitting on a mountain of money… All rich people are evil. The sooner people realize this, the better.

Never any problems. Do you still have that problem when addons are disabled?
