  • We’ve had mourning doves nest in gutters and reusing old robin nests in thin trees. They never rebuilt in the gutter after removing the nest (it was empty) but they still used the feeder and bird bath every year until they started using an old robin nest. They like more open nesting areas so a deeper nesting box might be why you aren’t seeing them return.

Something similar happened to me while playing catan at a friends place and it was pretty weird. One of the sublets we didn’t know very well had a new lady friend over ever month. The lady of the month walked into the kitchen in just panties and asked what we were playing. She obviously didn’t get the response she was hoping for and left with a disapointed look on her face. We all wondered if she was hoping to fluster a bunch of “virgin nerds” like some corney early 2000s movie in order to stroke her ego.

  • There are nonprofits that help organize to prevent the exploitation/displacement of low income populations while higher income areas are left to self organize. It would also have been useful to track political affiliation of these neighborhoods since it could be a political divide instead. I think people in the the $133k-$250k would be more conservative and thus more pro data center.

As an aside: I wish people would quit using the term ‘working class’ to refer to income level, its such a fuzzy term. Using ‘low income’ and ‘high income’ makes more sense in this case as it better reflects what Geoff Holtzman is talking about and working class could be refering to employment type.
