It’s not very arcady, and has a bit of a learning curve, though a HOTAS helps a lot. It’s a lot more simulation-esque. Not as much as MSFS, but closer to that end. It will blow your nuts off in VR, especially the Ship Launched Fighters (SLFs). One of the coolest VR experiences I’ve ever had, particularly near the center of the galaxy where the stars are much more dense than in our portion of the Milky Way.

*Some stars had to be removed near the center of the galaxy because they are so close, it makes it nearly impossible to navigate between them. On older computers, the galaxy map in the core of our galaxy will make your computer lag. Yes, we have that many stars IRL.

If you are the simmy type or like space, Elite Dangerous is insanely good, but has a learning curve up front. It’s the only game I’ve put over 1,100 hours in and still haven’t explored everything.

Subnautica is another game I can highly recommend.

If you wanna play games with friends (Elite is also MP), The Forest is a great game to bond over.

Paternity leave is a no brainer for families of all stripes. Both spouses should have time off to care for their children in the first year of their life, especially during the vulnerable first year before they are immunized against dangerous diseases. And I’m in a same sex relationship, so I’m definitely using it when we are ready to have kids, haha.

Honestly, each parent should have 6 mo of paid leave.

Oh, it’s going to be very universal pain. Most of the blue states are the trade hubs on the coasts, or the ones with the best research and medical programs, which have been crippled by massive cuts. Or all of the federal positions in those states fired or reduced. On top of all that, tourism is way down, or is projected to fall.

Before Trump, 90% of our state’s wheat was consumed internationally (or nationally), and our exports, still below the covid waterline, were ~60 billion USD a year. That’s rapidly changing, which will blow a huge hole in the state’s budget. All because most people were too stupid to vote in battleground states where their votes were absolutely critical.

Our state has been progressive for many decades, if not longer, yet we will be just as punished as the screwups and betrayers. :)

As stupid as they are, we’re going to need to keep the country together somehow. If for no other reason than to not have them immigrate to states that aren’t fucked up and become “welfare queens,” in their own words.

In truth, though, we are stronger and economically better off when everyone is working together. And I’m confident a few swift kicks to the ribs and one to the head will once again have them voting for people that weren’t dropped as babies. That is…if we get to keep our democracy.

Just do what our city did, and make it insanely expensive to drive anywhere. Some private lots start at $35/hr. Gas is sometimes $5/gal. Apartment parking was $270/mo. This isn’t even public pricing, there’s just a ton of demand and not much land. Biking is the only way to basically get guaranteed parking, and not have a simple weekly trip become a $70+ expense.

Yeah, way too expensive for me too.

Yeah, expensive up front, but the blades are cheap. I got on the Harry’s train before they got bought up and were cheap. Now, whoever bought them has been jacking up prices, which had me looking for a cheaper alternative.

Harry’s also gave me plastic guilt. There is a lot of waste. :p
