Nah you’re good. CPUSA members get a pass.
Actually no. I’ve had the thought to make this post for weeks but I was too lazy to actually do it until now.
Also, people are still waiting on me to bring over Chinese image macros for like 5 months but I swear I’ll do it next week.

US News@lemmygrad.ml•US gov had to correct their job numbers to admit that nearly all of their "new jobs" in California were non-existent
15·2 years agoVery good passage and it’s relevant in the modern world again. Arguably even more so than it was during Marx’s time in some respects.

Technology@lemmy.ml•China plans to build a giant rail gun to launch hypersonic planes into space
10·2 years agoEssentially the goal is this: to use a giant electromagnetic launch track to accelerate a hypersonic aircraft to Mach 1.6. The aircraft would then separate from the track, ignite its engine and enter near space at seven times the speed of sound.
Does no one read the article anymore before commenting? I’m not responding to all the comments here since it’s clearly a waste of my time, but every single one of the concerns that people mention in this thread so far has been acknowledged in the article already.

Comradeship // Freechat@lemmygrad.ml•How the fuck do you make friends?
9·2 years agoIf you are a small talker, ask for the person’s phone number at the end of the conversation and send them a message a day later and ask if they want to hangout. Prime locations are coffee shops, grocery stores, airports, and bus stops but you can do it anywhere really.
My wife and I make majority of our friends this way.

US News@lemmygrad.ml•US gov had to correct their job numbers to admit that nearly all of their "new jobs" in California were non-existent
52·2 years agoI hate the discourse around new jobs to make the economy seem better.
Unless it’s a full-time job with full benefits, a pension, and a living wage to support a family, it’s a temporary gig that people are coerced into, not a real job.

World News@lemmy.ml•Samsung, LG, SK suspend US construction projects amid soaring costs
12·2 years agoMarket analysts said that there is no relief as of yet from this difficult period. They urged the government to play a role as a mediator, so companies can map out more specific investment plans by clearing away any lingering uncertainties.
“The government is advised to stand at the forefront in discussing subsidy-related issues with its U.S. counterparts, so local chipmakers and battery firms’ uncertainties can be alleviated,
Give more money please lol. These global companies just keep a train of endless grift going.

Comradeship // Freechat@lemmygrad.ml•So the dems are really just gonna let Trump win
38·2 years agoThe two dominant American political parties at its core are about generating revenue. Losing elections do not lower donations by a significant amount while increasing corporate taxes and denouncing genocide does lower donations - even if you win the election.
I don’t think the Biden campaign can say anything actually popular with the people without angering the donor base (price control, rent control, stop genocide, nationalize healthcare, etc) so the Dems are working within the limits of acceptability set by the bourgeoisie overlords.

6·2 years agoAt the time of his death, Mr Barnett had been in Charleston for legal interviews linked to that case.
Last week, he gave a formal deposition in which he was questioned by Boeing’s lawyers, before being cross-examined by his own counsel.
He had been due to undergo further questioning on Saturday. When he did not appear, enquiries were made at his hotel.
He was subsequently found dead in his truck in the hotel car park.

101·2 years agoI really don’t want to disagree with you, but there was this one discord channel that I was banned from due to my unfavorable opinion of Pol Pot…
The world’s a big place and you can find all kinds of superfringe wackos. But getting back to the main post, anarchists do try to rehabilitate their problematic figures significantly more than communists do.

Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•What did slavery look like in feudal times?
7·2 years agoAdding onto my comment just in case some lib stumbles upon it weeks or months later and thinks “Tankies are delusional because it is more likely that he’s being biased instead of a single section of wikipedia being biased when other sections are good”
Look up “CCP” and “Gulf of Tonkin Incident” and see how it’s written. Go to the talk section to see the justification for writing it that way and see the anticommunist bias inherent in the system.

Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•What did slavery look like in feudal times?
12·2 years agoYeah that’s the real insidiousness of projects like Wikipedia and BBC. They are mostly written by normal people passionate about what they’re doing, and are accurate in a majority of cases except for those that are damaging to liberalism.

Bong Joon-ho said it best. We live in one country called capitalism.
