inching towards making the same jump.
Currently the things holding me back are music production stuff (mainly vst/vst3 plugins and their draconian drm). If anyone has any first hand experiences with eg. iLok and the plugins working under wine, it would be grand <3
Games wise… does raytracing in games work under linux? eg. Cyberpunk 2077, gog -version.
honestly can’t remember / don’t know, been ages since I started using that. sorry :/
E: But, no harm done if you uninstall the existing driver & software first, I guess?
never heard of nvslimmer, but by the sound of it it does exactly the same as nvcleanstall, which I have used. Basically, I only install the driver and physx from the nvidia driver package, with telemetry disabled during the install (so, no ads and such nonsense during install).

edit: and nv control panel from the windows store thingy (which is dreadful, imo)
I kinda find it odd that they up the CPU requirement a bit for rt… Why? I thought the RT happens entirely on the GPU.
Playing current version at 1440p, RT=psycho at pretty stable 60fps with a rtx3090 and a ryzen 9 3900x. Not too keen on upgrading anytime soon if I can avoid it. Fairly confident I can find playable settings with decent eyecandy with PL, but probably need to drop a notch from current settings (if they are even directly comparable).
only windows, afaik. On linux \ is the escape symbol
wouldn’t be the first time noctua took part in something that’s quite a bit removed from their regular products, though. Drop sells a noctua -colored custom keycap set, for example.
