  • The irritation you are experiencing in your wrist is likely an allergic reaction to the nickel metal Apple uses in the clasp post of your watch band. Switch to a nylon sports loop with velcro closure (very adjustable, and very very comfortable) and I’m pretty certain you’ll be fine. I guarantee you’ll like it better.

  • Well, I am an older guy and I like the fall detection and heart rate monitoring features. I’m also a bit of a fanatic about closing my rings, with multiple watches I never miss a step. I also very rarely even pick up my iPhone anymore and tend to do all my interactions on an Apple Watch. I currently have an Ultra and a Series 9. The Ultra is my daily driver if I’m out running around town. The S9 is mainly for workouts, afternoons and evenings lounging around and for whenever my Ultra is on the charger. I do sleep monitoring wearing my Ultra (not quite as comfortable as the S9 would be for this task), but I have my action button set up to turn on the flashlight so that when I get up at night I don’t fall over my german shepherd.

  • With the Dexcom G6 or G7 the apple watch app will display all the blood sugar data from your iPhone as transmitted to the phone from your CGM device. What this means for you is simple. If you want the readings to show up on your watch, you heed to always have your phone with you. Dexcom is still a bit behind in creating a stand alone link between the CGM device and the Apple watch, and that’s probably due to regulatory approval I would guess. Just go ahead and get y9urself an Apple Watch SE (2023) model.
