Some ideologies are, in fact, mutually exclusive and cannot tolerate the others. Fascism cannot be tolerated, for instance. Nor can a belief in chattel slavery as a universal good. Sometimes an opposing ideology is just too fucking evil to be allowed to persist.
Setting the line that must not be crossed is a hard no problem though. And misplacing that line an inch incorrect in either direction can be horrible too.
I think you could rationally explore ghosts in the “radically redefining” them arena. Ghosts could rationally exist as an artifact of your mind, and saying that is not the same thing as saying they don’t exist. Hallucinations exist. They aren’t real, but they exist. Ghosts could rationally exist in the exactly same way, as processes in our own heads. It’s when you start saying they interact with the world in a way outside people’s heads that you can’t really reconcile.
It wasn’t the only one, but it was certainly my first 2D fighter. Taught me the quarter circle movement.

I still like it. Rewatched it a year or two ago, annd found that it holds up. I actually and truly like it, for its merits, and not ironically. It’s not the horrible B movie it’s made out to be, it has heart.
That is entirely fair. I only know V:tM from people I knew who played it… but they were, as individuals, definitely more on the fascist side, leaning more into the glamour of being a monster rather than the horror of being a monster.
I hope more groups and players lean into the horror of it more than the glamour. Maybe this note is trying to encourage that.
I wonder how you would fix this bug without completely destroying your PC… you can’t run the full simulation for the entire unloaded world. You just can’t.

On the other hand, a blood sucking aristocracy that feeds off the “lesser people” beneath them as the protagonists… that’s nearly the definition of fascism?

I mean, theoretically, deer warning signs are asking you to slow down for deer. Just because few people actually do so doesn’t mean that’s not the purpose of the signs…
It’s not just the very ending, unless you mean the entire 2nd half… it just felt like there were two entirely different movies made, and they took the first half of one and haphazardly grafted it on to the second half of the other. The tonal whiplash alone was crazy.
I feel like that sort of movie mismatched has happened a lot over the years. I figure that producer meddling or overfitting to test-screening reactions is typically the cause.
