  • Bullfighting is opposed by at least half the country’s politicians, and fewer and fewer people are watching it. Many areas have taken measures against it, and without further ado.

The monarchy has great protection in the media, but on the street, most people criticize them without a problem. There’s a reason the instructions refuse to hold a referendum outright.

Football is different. Of course, there are people who criticize it, but a large part of the population is happy for their team, or the president of their team, to manipulate the politician in charge to gain something. Support for other institutions has many more flaws.

Dude, the best Pope will still be a horrible person, I feel sorry for whoever they are, but the Catholicism is based on horrible principles; they put them behind helping the poor and all that, but the hatred of anything that isn’t 100% standard is total. That is something that is not going to change because it is a basic part of the issue, read the Bible, it is there and no member of the church is going to deny that.

If you’re a normal person, the best you can hope for is that they elect someone who doesn’t fan the flames of hatred any more than necessary and hope that their social support continues to dwindle.Anything else is impossible

Well, in 1933 when the NSPD came to power they had 43% of the seats in parliament (I haven’t found the percentage of the total votes but I imagine it was much less). That did not prevent them from repeating the elections at the end of that year and getting more than 90%, you can imagine how.

Even a part of popular culture accepts that they came to power by winning elections and the German people feel and felt the shame that they came to power by democratic means, which is only half true.

I feel sorry for the American people, but they elected this team under the same rules of democracy as their previous presidents. To claim now that his election was not democratic is to distort the facts.

  • I guess everyone has their own turning point, but Reddit seems to have a new controversy every two weeks, so I suppose things will just keep escalating here.

Personally, I jumped ship during the API controversy, not because it directly affected me, but because ever since I discovered federated networks with Mastodon, I’ve thought it’s the perfect idea (in fact, I had an account on the server that disappeared even before that). I have accounts on all the federated networks, even though I don’t use them much, and I’d love to see them replace the traditional ones.

    In any case, welcome

  • I carry here as a year and a half (before I was in another instance that closed) and I can say that the increase in traffic, participation, comments, vows etc. For a couple of months it is remarkable.

I don’t know if it’s for Trump pushing Europeans and Candadia outside their products, for Reddit turning its platform into shit full of bots and unpopular standards or a combination of both, but I think that the network and community is doing really good (we even have a community of conservatives, half a year ago something like that would be unthinkable)

Yes, I guess that is part of the problem, in Spain hoteliers prefer to scam tourists with products of inferior quality compared to what we really eat than to gain fame and repercussion. I don’t know if that was your case, or where you were, it varies a lot from one region to another, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
