Long LIve Luigi

I am an American combat veteran of the Global War on Terror. I suffer from moral injuries, and I have trouble not seeing any issue through the lens of American imperialism.

Fuck everyone who is willing to sacrifice Ukrainian men and boys in order to weaken Russia for the benefit of the Western powers.

I’m the last person anyone would invite to a party.

  • Wow you really don’t like it when someone quotes you, do you? haha

I didn’t realize I had to explain why due process is important. You see, little Billy, when anyone can punish you (in these cases, execute you) for anything without proving it, accusing you, or even knowing who you are, then it doesn’t matter what crime you are accused of. Justice becomes a fascist tool to be used against anyone who is not in the good graces of those wielding the power.

You can see then that it matters not if Trump calls them narcoterrorists or if Obama calls them terrorists. Or if the next guy decides jaywalking justifies that force. If there is no due process, the crime is immaterial, regardless of what it is.

I hope you learn why due process is essential.

  • Here is a quote from you about Obama’s kill list and signature drone strike policies: “If it is true that someone is planning to commit terrorism, it may be justified to kill them, if other methods of preventing them are not practical.” *You are focusing on terror versus narcoterror. This is missing the point. *

Obama’s kill list and signature drone strike policies did not include any due process to determine if there was any planning to commit terrorism, making the killings completely unjustified. In the case of signature strikes, the person’s identity would be unknown, and their behavior would be boiled down to where they were in the world, their gender, and their perceived age, so nothing about their behavior at all.

*You are ignoring the process by which someone is targeted, which is the entire point. *

  • I remember the Cold War. The USSR was bad because they were communists.

Then, after the fall of the Soviet Union, Western governments and corporations paid the corrupt, now former communists, who were in charge of industries, to hand over resources in ways that would not help Russia and turned Russia into an Oligarchy right away. At the same time, agreements were made about NATO (which should have been defunct the moment the USSR fell, given its mission) and about how close a NATO country would be to Russian borders.

Then, when Russian people were upset about the way the West was exploiting their resources and violating agreements, a strongman gained power by “standing up to the West,” and suddenly, Russia was bad again. Putin would not be in power if he did not have the West as a foil.

The West has certainly been Russophobic my entire life, and it’s crazy to see my fellow citizens in the US continue to fall for the same old tricks.

  • You are missing the point. The people put on either list have never been accused of anything in a court of law. They were never indicted. They have no way to get off those lists. There is no due process and no congressional oversight. The executive branch decided they should die, so they died. End of story.

It started in the Middle East with Islamic terrorism. It is currently in Latin America being called narco terrorism. You can see it already happening in the US with peaceful protesters and those who use encription online. There is no difference. It is all equally bad. What Obama did was the exact same thing in the same way as what Trump is doing.

The next guy, regardless of the color of his tie, will be more than willing to use this unified executive theory product in even more disgusting ways. And for that, we can all say, “Thanks, Obama!”

  • Most of the people I see telling people not to vote are Red and Blue guys talking to anyone thinking about voting for a third party. I see AOC make shit up about the Green Party candidates when the Green Party candidates are the ones putting their asses on the line, getting arrested, and protesting the abhorrent shit this administration does. That is worlds away from a Chuck Schumer letter.

  • The comments are heartening. The parties are more alike than they are dissimilar. One is a better class of criminal, for sure, but neither is worth supporting carte blanche. There are a handful of elected Democrats who are worth supporting, but the longer they are exposed to the DNC “moderates,” the more they expose themselves to the weakness that most humans succumb to.

Show me a Blue No Matter Who voter, and I’ll show you someone who willingly gives their time and money to a billionaire who owns a pro sports team that already has ripped off the community they live in for millions of dollars in ballpark deals.
