There are a bunch in the manga version that they scrubbed for the show. With the 7 eyes symbol side by side.

Also while this is a fan blog, it also points out several extremely strange anti-Semitic and Nazi influences and coincidences.

Hm, that first link seems to be from the Great Teacher Onizuka manga, instead of Evangelion, though the Seele symbol is apparently a reference.

Evangelion takes a lot of references and imagery from religion, from Christianity to Judaism what with stuff like angels, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Adam and Lilith, etc, but I honestly think it’s a reach to directly connect it to Nazism and antisemitism.

Japan was on the side of the Nazis during WWII and never actually apologized for their atrocities, but would that have shown up so blatantly in their media? I’m not sure.

The official media of her in Nazi uniform when she was born in the 21st century is really baffling to me.

Many people in Japan have no idea who Hitler even was. Or at most they know him as “the guy who did something bad once but I don’t know what exactly”.

WW2 is a very suppressed topic in Japan.

Also Onizuka was worked on by several members who also worked on the Neon Genesis team.

FWIW the manga version is very separate, even if it technically started beforehand.

E: read the link, yea that’s a bit sussy
