I made an (updated) site to see which shows have the most Star Trek actor overlaps, can you find them all? - eviltoast

Based on my last post I updated my site to include a running “hall of fame” list that features media with the most overlaps (currently not much there). This was something that the community sort of glommed on to, so I made it a feature.

It’s all based on user searches, try to beat the “high score” !

Hi thanks. I don’t know what you mean by the memory alpha thing, could you please elaborate, if this runs up against any terms of service or the general principles of ST fandom, I’m all ears

Memory Alpha is the Fandom dot com wiki and it’s got a lot of problems in general, one of which is image hosting. It’s not a TOS or copyright issue; it’s more that the average person won’t be able to see an image you link from it.

Memory Alpha doesn’t want people linking their images on external sites (which costs them bandwidth without getting any traffic), so they refuse to render images linked on another site. It’s not a legal or moral problem to link these images, they just won’t work.

For an example of what this looks like, go to Commander Shelby’s page and check out the image of her in TNG. If by some chance you were the person who added that image, either clear your browser cache or go to the page in a different browser to see the problem.

hm interesting I see what you mean. So I actually pull all character images from Memory Alpha! It’s strange why Elizabeth Dennehy first image is not rendering, while the second one is. I don’t do any particular caching on my end per se, maybe my hosting solution (Vercel) has some part to play here, not sure.
