This is satirical. In a world where we have plenty of problems with cars, we don’t need to make them up.

Disagree. Horns are the only way of letting people you are there. Why the hell should I need to pay to honk? You want to be forced to pay to honk when some dude tries Tboning you because they didn’t stop at a stop sign?

Because, more often than not it’s used abusively and not for the actual purpose.

Plus it’s a polluting loud noise that puts the onus of recognizing the danger of the vehicle on someone outside of it

Not sure where you live, but I’ve avoided numerous accidents thanks to being able to give a light honk and remind people to pay attention.

If a car made me pay to honk, id probably just use the money to get a train horn.

Braking is great, if you have 100+feet to brake, depending on where and how it happened, sure!

For the very few times I need a horn, I NEED a horn.

Also again, not sure where you live, but it feels like I’m the only person who uses my horn in my state, which is likely why its so damn effective.

braking and honking do not always apply to the same situations. both are necessary safety features that should absolutely not cost extra.
