        You say that like no one would be willing. There are plenty of people who simply go where the current culture takes them. You just need one decent strong willed person to get the legislation in place and people would start behaving and the culture will shift over time

      Fines are just laws for poor people… This is a terrible idea. Laws need non-monetary punishment or they are just for poor people.

    Look, American sheriffs can drive drunk or the terrorists win.

    If the terrorists win, anyone could unconstitutionally seize assets, murder people without consequence or drive recklessly without consequence!

    That’s what happens when sheriff is an elected position at the county level in a lot of places. Nobody but the public can hold them accountable.

    And the the public are fucking stupid.
