US, frustrated, says ceasefire plan rejected by Netanyahu had been coordinated with him - eviltoast

White House officials said Thursday they had coordinated a ceasefire plan that the US and France presented a day earlier with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and believed Israel was fully on board with it. And they indicated surprise and disappointment that Israel had rejected it and that the Prime Minister’s Office was now saying Netanyahu had never indicated he would back it.

A French official also made clear to The Times of Israel that the ceasefire initiative had been coordinated with Israel.

While still in the air, however, Netanyahu’s office issued a firm denial that he had assented to the idea, calling it an “American-French proposal that the prime minister didn’t even respond to.”

How many headlines do we have to read of Biden being “frustrated” with Netanyahu and then see another headline providing them with weapons before we say “Maybe Biden is part of the problem”? You can’t keep falling for the same thing and expect people to respect you for it. Not when you’re president of a country with the most powerful military in the world.

America give Isreal money, Israel uses it to buy weapons from American defense companies, billionaires get richer. Getting in the way of that is political suicide, no one will try to stop it. Harris will maintain the status quo, Trump will double down on it.

The only way to get Israel to listen is cutting off all aid and weapons “sales”.

Bibi knows Biden will never even slow down weapons and aid, so he knows he can do whatever he wants.

The frustrating thing is that, if the US cut off all arms this minute, Israel still has enough munitions to continue to pummel Gaza for eight months!

I think we should cut off all arms today. Israel still gets to do whatever the fuck it wants, but they’ll have eight months of dwindling munitions to start seriously weighing the actual consequences of trying to survive in an area completely surrounded by neighbors that it’s seriously pissed off without an endless supply of free weapons.

“So we’re in agreement with this?”

“As long as the weapons are coming.”

    “Yes yes, send the weapons.”

“HA! GOT EM! Cancel that shit again we got what we wanted!”

“We’d love to be able to cancel the weapons shipments in retaliation but AIPAC… Also something something that is antisemitic.”
