Bethesda Clarifies game disc will be included with Xbox physical editions - eviltoast

After yesterdays news that Starfield might not have a physical disc, Bethesda has come in to clarify the following

Starfield Standard Edition is included with Xbox Game Pass. Game disc included with physical purchases of Xbox Standard Edition. Game code included with physical purchases on PC Standard edition.

    I’m sure that’s a relief for many, but I bet there’s still going to be a pretty serious day one patch to download. Also, do we know if the game will actually work offline?

      There were rumors based on the Steam specs that the game would be always-online, but they moved “broadband internet connection” from Minimum to Recommended specs – so at least on PC, it’s highly likely not online only.

    The edition that contains the physical goodies (watch, steelbook etc.) doesn’t come with the disk but a digital download though. Honestly I never understood why they’d ship a steelbook without the physical game, but it’s pretty common these days.
