Trossard obviously wants more minutes and when Martinelli plays as poorly as he did, Trossard deserves to ask questions. Now he’s created a problem was Arteta in the next match. This is what it means to play for a team with a decent squad.

Leo came through for us again. Raya with some massive saves. Saliba being the absolute stalwart we’ve needed for years. Watkins, for missing 100% of the chances he took.

Not our absolute best, but the job is done and I felt fairly confident all game.

Trossard is such a game changer…but he looks pissed about something so I’m hoping he’s alright 😂

It’s so refreshing not to have to worry about our backline even with subs. The team is playing with even more maturity and composure. Villa absolutely got rattled after the first, that’s going to cost them in the Champions League, and hopefully a lesson we learned from last season.

Yeah, it feels good to have a solid defensive line, with depth, for once.

Maturity from deep runs in CL, a PL title push to the last day, the 2nd year in a row, England with a deep run in the Euros. They’ve gone through a fair bit in only a couple of years

I hoped we would start the season just like we ended and improve from there.

This result shows we have improved in some ways. I was pretty nervous for a lot of the game, but Raya and Trossard really made the difference today.
