Pretty sure I could build this long range wifi attenna.
Found this other neat little box that apparently lets you access wifi 2.5 miles away… Not sure how this would be beneficial, but it does look interesting as well.
In addition to the other comments, you’ll want to be sure you’re paying attention to FCC (or whatever the regulatory body is for your region) regulations.
This looks to be using standard size antennas, which says to me that it’s upping the power output. It’s my understanding that the FCC is super intense about enforcing maximum power output limits.
Yup. This seems like playing with fire to me.
Although I suspect that in Wi-Fi frequency bands it would be harder to get caught. You mostly would just be messing up everyone else’s Wi-Fi in that area.
For this length maybe will be better with a point-to-point directional antenna (dish), same setup on both sites, there must be no obstructions in the signal path
Yes. Directional antennas would work better and prolly taking inspirations on modern cell towers in like cities I think could work well since I think they’re made to blend into the surrounding areas. Basically somewhere up high would work well I would think and there are many ways to do this.
Long range wifi is going to need a strong password. And a long ranged wireless card too
How does the antenna work?
I don’t know, ask OP.
