I still don’t wrapped my mind about idea of reservation in US. Why make a reservation in restaurant or hotel ?
In my local, you come to hotel, ask for a room, you got it. If you don’t, find another hotel (usually nearby).
Same with restaurant. Do you have a seat ? Yes, get in, no, eat somewhere else.
No reason for making reservation.
Reservation is because you either want that specific hotel or restaurant or it’s at a time of the year where they’re all going to be booked. Good luck finding a restaurant for valentines day without a reservation if you want a fancy one
