How can we start making a change? - eviltoast

There’s many posts here with the purpose of convincing people to support electoral reform. Not so much that’s actually actionable. What do we do if we want to change things? For a start, does anyone have information on who’s responsible for the election system at each level of government in each of the major cities?

I would suggest showing up to your town council meetings to bring up the topic, writing to your representatives, supporting those mps who backed electoral reform, donating to FairVote Canada, putting up posters around your town showing the benefits, speaking about the concept of proportional representation with your neighbours, friends and family.

For British Columbia I would blame the BCNDP for holding a referendum that was doomed to fail as it allowed big money to campaign against it with fearmongering the public that change is scary.

I have also heard that electoral reform is banned on the municipal level for British Columbia and Ontario.
