S21 vs S22 vs S23 - eviltoast

Hello, I’m looking to upgrade my Huawei PSmart 2020 and considering these 3 options.

-Galaxy S21 5G 128GB - 276€

-Galaxy S22 5G 128GB - 276 378€

-Galaxy S23 128GB - 539€

Which one is the best price-quality match? If you have any other recommendations I’ll be happy to hear them.

I’m in Spain and the store selling them is backmarket. Thanks!

The S21 doesn’t make sense if the S22 is the same price.

So the decision is the S22 or the S23. Do you feel the S23 is worth almost twice the price?

The S23 pictures and videos are better, but the S22 does just fine if you aren’t someone who uses the camera features often. Some people prefer the S22 selfies and colors thought. The S22’s battery isn’t as good as the S23. The S23 has a much better processor, but will you even notice the difference with your typical usage? Both phones use the same storage controller, the 256gb S23 got the upgraded hardware, so don’t expect wildly better in read/write or response between the S22 and S23 128gb.

Ah I messed up with the prices, the S22 is 100€ more expensive than the S21. Just fixed it.

I’d still say S22 over the S21, so you still have to decide if the S23 is worth the jump in price vs the S22.

Thanks! I will be buying from a reseller site so the S23 is 128Gb at that price. The 256Gb one is going for 666€. I don’t play any games on the phone and it’s mostly an extension of my PC (email, chat, social media) and my actual phone battery lasts like half a day so my expectations are not spoiled lol

My biggest worry is how long I can expect each phone to last. Hoping for 5 years at least.

Samsung supports their phones’ software for 5 years, so the S22 has 3 years of support left. My only concern about the lifespan you are hoping for is the battery on the S22. I would factor in the potential cost of a battery replacement in two years in your decision.
