@ffxiv My takeaways so far:
- Chat bubbles are on the way!
- 2-Dye channels look pretty good
- Yoshi-P mentioned multiple times that they want to get more experimental with mechanics again, and I can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with!
- I’m still unsure if I’ll like PCT or not - the paint mechanic looks kind of annoying to use with the cast-time, still gonna try it though@ffxiv Also story-wise, Yoshi-P recommends to take a look at the Alliance raids and the convocation… 👀
I still need to finish endwalker but I’m really looking forward to this especially the cyberpunkish location. Fuck knows how that’ll be explained but I’m looking forward to finding out.
Given how much we’ve heard about the Allagans throughout the game I strongly suspect they had a hand in it. Could be wrong, would be interesting if it was more recent.
-Cross DC partyfinder won’t be a thing anytime soon unfortunately. From one of the interviews. -Also the theme of Dawntrail will be quite uplifting to contrast the current world issues. Continuation of story isn’t set in stone.
I like the changes jobs received,as in, very little. I actually enjoy the current gameplay. The most important thing is the content, and it really feels like they are going to deliver big time in Dawntrail.
Pretty obvious they have absolutely no idea what to do with jobs any more. More boring 2 minute finishers for everyone!
I was very happy with Sage and enjoy playing it almost as much as Stormblood Scholar. MIL Storm’s Crown Extreme with the heavy healing was enjoyable very much or Samurai while dodging bullet hell felt very fast and intense. Obviously there are snoozefest jobs like Bard as well, but some of it is personal preference.
I mean… It’s not much, considering the time spans involved, but at least Yoshi P is now on record in an interview talking about their plans to move away from the current job design ethos. If they do well with the fights, and I end up liking PCT at least, I’m down.
I straight up do not believe him. Once 8.0 rolls around either it’ll get pushed back again or the changes will be totally inconsequential.
Besides, doesn’t excuse having to wait near 3 years for fun jobs.
Honestly, valid until we get something to actually show they’re turning it around. I am cautiously optimistic given how PCT looks as a new job that I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt for now, but I can see why one wouldn’t.
