More than 200 extrajudicial killings of former Afghan government officials and security forces have taken place since the Taliban took over the country two years ago, according to a U.N. report released Tuesday.
The groups most targeted by the Taliban have been former army, police and intelligence forces, according to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan.
This probably surprises a very small amount of people.
The same story has been happening since the time of Alexander the great.
Foreign power marches in. They control the towns but never the tribal groups in the mountains. They can stay for years or decades but the day the troops leave, everything goes back to the inter-tribal conflicts and rivalries it has always been.
I wonder if they wanted the US to stay.
