Game Pass, I have a friend who is a game hopper, not everything he picks is game pass but enough is, and while I don’t use it as much as I wish I did, the phone and PC cloud play is pretty cool and makes it extra easy to poke at titles I’m curious about fairly quickly and with minimal effort.

I’m on game pass. It came for two years with the console and also you can get it for.free by doing Microsoft rewards consistently.

It’s pretty great and, having had my Xbox for over a year, I haven’t bought a single game. In that time I’ve completed probably 8 AA or AAA games, tried a lot more and also played many many smaller games.

A year’s game pass is about 160. So 8 big games (assuming a huge discount to roughly 20) would be about the same price and I’ve been able to dip into many many more games in that time.

Genuinely, think for many people Game pass is a great option (especially if you are happy to.kiss out or wait for some games)

I subbed to PS+ when PS5 came out because consoles make you pay to play games like Demon Souls online. Other than that, it’s a complete ripoff. Once Sony really started to embrace PC, I ended my subscription.

I also subbed to GamePass for quite a while once it hit PC. It was a no-brainer and a great value… but between the rising prices, the modding difficulties, and the dumpster fire that is Windows 11… I’ve dropped that, too.

I don’t do Nintendo, but the one game “subscription” I do still maintain is Humble Choice. It’s a bit of a gamble since you never know what you’ll get, but the worst-case scenario is that meaty 20% discount on other purchases.

I have had a Nintendo one for the last few years, mostly for the online multiplayer. Split between myself and 7 friends, it has been affordable for us. I cancelled it earlier this year as the Switch is past its hype period and we’re all playing less these days.

Switch online, cause I’m to lazy/not technically inclined/to poor/not committed enough to pirate/emulate the games to save 60 bucks a year, also I’m not a dev so if I’m not paying someone to make a game and I’m not making the game myself then there’s no game being made thus no game to play, then I’m just one sad gameless guy lol

I’m confused, do you think you need the sub to play Switch games? Not paying the sub doesn’t mean you have to pirate or emulate.

PS Plus, cause I own like 3 PS games otherwise, Nintendo because I keep forgetting to cancel it, and I’ve never had an X-box, on account of the steam library.

Switch online because I need my randomly generated dungeons on D2R (apparently offline mode gives you the same layout all the time !)
