Notre Dame began preparations for the 2023 season on Wednesday. Here's what I saw every step of the way in the first preseason practice.

Eli Raridon practicing without a knee brace (two ACL tears in two years) is a positive. The lack of Michael Mayer is not. Credit freshman Cooper Flanagan for grabbing No. 87 and the associated comparisons. If a 6-foot-6, 262-pound freshman tight end could look small, it’s Flanagan as the guy wearing Mayer’s number.
