Ubisoft is currently developing Far Cry 7 and a standalone Far Cry multiplayer game.

It’s claimed that Far Cry 7 is being made with Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, rather than the Dunia engine used for recent series entries. The multiplayer game is currently an extraction-based shooter set in the Alaskan wilderness, it’s claimed.

Oh crap. That’s not good. I know Far Cry 6 wasn’t great, but making FC7 multiplayer and an extraction shooter isn’t the answer. What’s next, Forza the card game?

I couldn’t care less about a Far Cry multi-player game. But I still enjoy the series enough to be mildly excited for another single player game.

It’s sort of like Assassin’s Creed. Not groundbreaking, but mildly engaging enough to keep me entertained.

Yeah I guess as long as the extraction game is in addition to the single player game, that’s great, those that want to play it can.

I like the Far Cry series as well. I recently finished Days Gone, which reminded me a lot of Far Cry 5 with a better story, and zombies.

Your own comment says “Far Cry 7 and a stand-alone Far Cry multiplayer game.” Two separate entities, not far cry 7 being a multiplayer game.

Oh those are pretty big games haha, the recent dark and darker release has people playing it all over twitch.

Basically, you spawn into a map with nothing. It’s both pvp and pve, and the usable map gets smaller over time (fortnite/battle royale style). You pick up loot throughout the game, lose everything when you die, and there are only x points where you can “extract.” If you extract, you can store that loot in your vault and choose what items to bring into the next match, so you have an advantage over other players.

            • drop into ‘zone’
            • run around trying to find gear and equipment
            • run to extraction zone without getting killed and ‘extract’
            • organise your stash for 30 minutes and go out again with new gear
            • get killed and lose all the gear you had
            • repeat until next server wipe and you have to do it all again

Farcry is one of my favorite series, and like so many ubisoft titles, they ruined it.

Leveled gear and enemies can fuck right off.

At least they spent time and fixed most of the issues with breakpoint.

I made the mistake of preordering 6, played for a couple hours, and never touched it again.

Still go back and play 2, 3, Primal, and 5 about once a year and have a wonderful time.

I’d love to see another good farcry, as well as ghost recon and splinter cell. Going to wait to see the reviews and understand the game mechanics before ever buying another ubisoft product.
