Does Lemmy have a bump system? - eviltoast

By bump system I mean someone interacting with a post causing that post to move higher in the main feed.

If so what are the specifics? Is it just upvotes? Just comments? What about if someone archives your post?

Also what’s to stop someone from trying to manipulate their own post by adding new comments to try to raise the post in the feed to get more interaction?

It does if you sort posts by “New Comments” so it works like an old forum system (such as PHPbb). All new posts will be at the top, and all new replies will push it to the top again.

What stops people manipulating their posts are rules against spam, automation against spam, and the fact most people just stick with the default sorting option that goes entirely by a different metric.

Are there any non spammy ways to boost interaction? I’m not trying to be excessive or anything just want to know if there’s any little details I can use that wouldn’t be considered spam or punishable.

I find a good title and finding the right /c/ommunity to post in weigh heaviest on how well a post does.
