You can go and just enjoy the day by yourself and in your own way. No talking to stranger required unless you want to! Sometimes just a change of scenery can be just what you need.
I mean, if I just want a change of scenery, I can just go for a hike or bikeride like I often do. If I’m going to spend money to go somewhere, I’d like to actually want to go.
That’s fair, but you can do those any other time 🙂 Just pointing out that you don’t need to do anything you’re uncomfortable with or even talk to anyone if you don’t want to to have fun doing something. Sometimes just exploring and being in a new environment is rewarding enough.
I know, its just $100 to exist somewhere is a bit more than I would want to spend.
Yeah that’s pretty steep if you’re not super into it. You’d probably have more fun than you think though so just don’t let anxiety ruin what could be a pretty fun time!
I made it there, but didn’t end up going do to registration issues.

Just walking up to the hotel and through the lobby was interesting. I was more disappointed than I thought I would have been even though I didn’t really plan on going.
It was a nice day out, so I had a nice walk. It would have been nicer if there wasn’t an “unruly” passenger on the train ahead of mine causing a 10 min delay.
Sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations, but at the very least you can make an informed decision next time around if it comes down to it. At least you got a nice walk out of it!
