I already have rEFInd. It’s been my bootloader on this particular device since I installed SparkyLinux on it in 2021.

OSX Snow Leopard. The main issues with everything I’ve tried recently are:

        • OpenBSD: Disk partitioning process was not explained clearly by anyone.
        • FreeBSD: Refused to find any WiFi networks. Won’t boot.
        • NetBSD: Beeps loudly and uncontrollably on the WiFi config screen.
        • KANOTIX: Couldn’t see my disk.
        • antiX: Wouldn’t partition my disk.
        • GNU Guix: Actually installed, but the Guix package manager kept crashing post-install. I blame my old processor and my 3GB of RAM. I’m also not a fan of the filesystem layout in Guix.

Dang. Wish I had more experience with BSDs and could be more helpful, but I could probably only regurgitate wiki links that you’ve likely already gone through
