It must confuse English learners to hear phrases like, "I'm home", instead of "I am at home." We don't say I'm school, or I'm post office. - eviltoast

    In this usage, “home” is an adverb / adverbial! It is a preposition being used adverbially.

    I’m going in. I’m going home.

    Send it out. Send it home.

    Run away! Run home!
