Trafficking illegally obtained firearms over state lines is also a felony.
I still find it odd the prosecution dropped the ball so badly on this case.

No Wisconsin law does not prohibit it. That is why the charge was dropped.
The weapon never crossed state lines.
The prosecution didn’t drop the ball. Most of what you are saying is false.
