I find this hard to believe given their support for Zionism. Guessing they will just sell to a third party who will sell on to Israel

Yeah, this seems very hard to believe.

But we’ll have to wait and see. It’s not like Israel needs Canada when they have the US, after all.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The foreign affairs minister, Mélanie Joly, told the Toronto Star her government would halt future arms shipments.

The decision follows a parliamentary motion, introduced by the New Democratic party (NDP), that called on the governing Liberals to halt future arms exports to Israel.

The New Democrats, who are supporting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s minority government, have expressed frustration with what they see as his failure to do enough to protect civilians in Gaza.

The motion – which passed 204-117 with the support of Liberals, Bloc Québécois and the Green party – also called on Canada to work “towards the establishment of the state of Palestine”.

The successful vote late on Monday followed a last-minute deal between the Liberals and the NDP, which had previously called on the government to “recognize the state of Palestine”.

“It is shameful that the Liberal government has drawn moral equivalence between Israel, a declared democratic ally, and Hamas, a Canadian government-listed terrorist entity.”

The original article contains 350 words, the summary contains 158 words. Saved 55%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

We sold them for decades. We used to sell tanks back in mid-50’s and weapons to Israel. Sold APVs to Saudi Arabia years ago. Was a big issue here.

Attended a presentation on this, we sold weapons since WW2. We are just not as crazy about it or as much as say, the USA. No one is.

Hey man, we gave some boats to Ukraine. They just have to supply themselves with the oars. Our military is a joke. The only thing we’re good at is raping our troops without consequence.
