    You know, that is the most sketchy thing I’ve ever seen in my notifications on Lemmy. No explanation, just a link that looks like the kind of click bait hack I always avoid. What is this?

      IIRC it is an extension for youtube that changes titles and thumbnails to more accurately reflect the content of the videos

        Exactly this. It’s crowd-sourced replacements for thumbnails and titles to more accurately reflect the content of the video. I only shared it because of the mention that the video was very much a clickbait title and thumbnail.
