I HATE that they are always shilling for these events.

“It really was a great show here in Saudi Arabia”

You never hear that during the more traditional races. Fuck sports washing.

Not entirely true as the Zandvoort race also got many praises for “setting the bar” for the whole race weekend as a spectacle which is a pretty old track.

But I’d rather see a good race in Spa/Suzuka without a show than a “great show” with a boring race but sadly it seems to go in the more show-direction. However in my opinion this Saudi Arabian track is pretty cool. And when you are at the track itself it is pretty neat to have great things to do or see before or after the race.

I feel like I hear that line on every race, not sure what you mean.

That cat and mouse chase between Lewis and Piastri was so stressful

I can only imagine how frustrated Piastri was the whole time only to move ahead of him because Lewis pitted lol

I believe sky mentioned that the jump-start sensors didn’t trip, indicating that he didn’t cross (or touch?) the line.

Basically he stopped far enough back that his movement did not leave his designated area.

This is the rules reason he didn’t get a penalty.

From a fairness standpoint, correcting from his early start threw him off and he lost a couple of places because he was slow on the real start.

They were too busy giving 10 sec penalties to Magnussen for actual racing. Ok maybe the Albon pinch was penalty worthy but 10 seconds?

I thought so too but it sounded like that was the new rule this year that they had to give a 10 second penalty.

As a Piastri fan I was happy with his pace, but especially his tyre management. That long of a stint on one tyre would have caught him out last year.

As interesting as it was to see KMag hold up the pack to give space for Hulk, I do wish drivers had to serve their penalties in the race, in a timely manner. With 20 seconds of penalties, his race was basically run. I get that it’s teamwork and why he did it etc., but it just feels very very cynical

Other than p1, what a great race! Strategy mix ups and tyre choices, safety cars and gearbox issues. Battles up and down the field, max reigned in slightly, what’s not to love?
