The big issue is they are just another huge shitty corp that will bring no value, and more importantly will 100% be sitting on this property for a very long time. Hasbro has thoroughly fucked D&D over. My expectation is that Tencent will find different and novel ways to fuck D&D over. I doubt Tencent will be significantly better or worse for D&D than Hasbro. But then D&D (and WotC more generally) was mostly beyond redemption before news that Hasbro was trying to sell it off.
The comment I replied to was asking that exact question, and I was pointing out that the only reason to think they are any different is probably rooted in racism, as a lot of the panic surrounding tencent has been in my experience.
