who could have seen this coming? surely not the south Vietnamese, the south Koreans, or any of the other militaries the united states propped up until it became clear that they weren’t going to win

their women arent officially filtered through a Kim gets the most beautiful women, hundreds to thousands of them, then the gov brass getting the beautiful women scraps.
Westerners continue to be the most propagandized people on earth.
I’d be happy to provide a multitude of sources from north Korean defectors corroborating that. Or you could go to North Korea and interview some of the people outside the tourist areas in Pyongyang and get back to me…? Wait o.o I dont think they let you do that. also, interesting that you latch on to that point and not the winning the war/having a better economy part (south Korean soldiers being taller by multiple inches isnt just genetics).
The US does abandon their allies pretty frequently, but that is real politique for ya. South Korea is just not a good example of that. Considering that Vietnams communist government is more closely aligned with the US than China/Russia, pretty interesting imo.
I’m open to changing my mind about North Korea, but I’d love to see sources and not just rhetoric! :) I’ll provide mine if you have a specific question. & there are non-western aligned sources who have done interviews with said north korean defectors. Also, pretty lawl that instead of pointing towards your sources, my comment just got reported and removed. Reminds me of /r/conservative

I dunno man. I can push a good train.
You made a post that broke the rules (no misinformation), and it got removed. Not sure what you were expecting.
As to your more general point, I agree; the South did come off better by not being subject to a massive genocide by the USA.
What was the misinformation?
What do you think?
The word you will want to google is kippumjo.
They had a good shot until the Russian government took over US Congress.
Could Americans, just for once, take responsibility for their own shitty politicians and politics, rather than blaming it on foreigners? This “foreigners secretly control the government ” bullshit is basically the same kind of conspiracy theory scapegoating that Republicans do with Qanon, and it’s bordering on fascistic in it’s attitude.
Liberals will never be able to figure out why the first president to ever authorize weapons transfers and sales to Ukraine was Trump and the Republicans.
Also the first president to face 91 criminal charges. What in the ever-loving hell is your point?
If you can’t figure it out, it’s useless for me to explain it to you
Liberals: lol, the republicans are so dumb with their conspiracy theory about evil woke deep state controlling everything behind the scenes.
Also liberals: The evil russian deep state control everything behind the scenes and everyone who says otherwise is a Russian bot!!
Ukraine had a good shot at peace and no war at all until the US government took over Kiev.
Btw Russiagate has been thoroughly exposed as a made up story to get Dems all excited. But go on about how non-existent foreign interference in US politics is bad but US interference in foreign politics either doesn’t happen or should be happening depending on the particular reality invented by the State Department for the particular country in question.

This is the best summary I could come up with:
Ukraine is running low on ammunition for its US-supplied Howitzer guns as it battles to fend off Russian attacks, CNN reported.
An artillery crew for an M109 Paladin Howitzer near Bakhmut said that shells were in short supply amid a hold-up in US aid, and they were having to ration their use.
While Russia has placed its economy on a war footing, gearing up its production of shells and other types of ammunition, Ukraine’s supply from its Western allies is dwindling.
Russia has reportedly increased its production of shells to around two million a year, according to Ukrainian military intelligence.
Ukraine uses around 240,000 shells a month and ammunition shortages are an increasing problem as Russia intensifies attacks on Ukrainian positions on key parts of the front line.
A Ukrainian soldier told CNN that Ukraine was being outgunned, and Russia also had Soviet-era ammunition reserves to draw on.
