How close are you to a social media burnout? - eviltoast

Like, we’re in an interesting era of times where so many alternatives are cropping up because of the drastic and draconic practices that have been taken on the social media platforms we’ve commonly embraced. But eventually, starting new can get tiring after a while.

I just deactivated Facebook, Instagram and reddit due to the fact that I see what is happening with Twitter, reddit, and now Threads and how I’m over that shit. I started a Pixelfed and Mastodon, but those seem to not have picked up as well as Lemmy. I was SO done with Reddit. I am a very liberal person and very accepting of all people and reddit sort of fuels hatred towards people with conflicting views. I sort of dehumanized conservatives and the vaccine hesitant during covid due to reddit, but I was just repeating the same shit in comments I was hearing around reddit. Justified or not, fueling rage through echoed opinions is no longer something I’m interested in. I’m sure that will happen here, but it seems less likely through different instances and what not.
