What are your "controversial" opinions that go against popular opinions in the UK? - eviltoast

I’ll start: Greggs is massively overrated. I genuinely don’t understand how people hype it.

Edit: this is a casual community so it would be great if we could avoid politics lest it descend into chaos!

Then don’t vote. My rough rule is:

    • Interesting and agree - upvote
    • Interesting but disagree - upvote
    • Not interesting and disagree - ignore or comment WHY I disagree
    • Insane offensive nonsense - ignore or comment WHY I find it offensive
    • Blatant link spam - downvote

Makes for a more engaging platform and stops a place turning into an echo chamber.

P.S. I upvoted you because I enjoy having my views challenged though I disagree with you for the above reason. I don’t want echo chambers.

I agree up until insane offensive nonsense, which I think needs to be downvoted into oblivion. Much like your “proudly controversial opinions” about modern medicine.

It’s fair enough to have the thought that things might be overdiagnosed, but we are really only just learning about things like autism and it is a wide spectrum. Minimising people’s suffering can be more harmful than you think.
