It’s weird that they don’t mention that medical marijuana is legal, and getting a card is as easy as making a phone call and giving them your credit card. There’s no reason anyone should be arrested for simple possession alone.

Admittedly, it’s not a state I’ve ever lived in. I just happen to also live in one of those states with awful cannabis legislation, so I remembered something about Pennsylvania not being on par with its neighboring states.

In practice it’s pretty decent. Not having homegrown is dumb, and medical being a front for recreational is dumb, bit it’s $75 and a literal 15 s call to get a card. At the state level homegrown has been a topic, it’ll take a few years but PA will get there.

Isn’t it literally still technically illegal for even medical users to smoke (rather than vape or eat) marijuana there? I think that’s what they mean by dumb laws.

Yes it’s a dumb law. It’s not really enforced unless you are a total dick. And if you are stuck in an apartment there are other less intrusive ways to smoke that won’t piss off neighbors (medical or not).

Nobody is busting down doors because they smell weed. It’s always a neighbor complaint. There are a lot of watchdogs And there isn’t going to ever be a respectful way to smoke a joint in a shared building.

It’s certainly not perfect, but it’s trending in the correct direction.

It’s not, we’re surrounded by states where recreational use is legal. Millions of dollars are heing spent just across the border, and the medical card program is a joke.

I was just surprised to learn people are still being arrested and prosecuted.

I’d bet it’s billions actually. One dispensary on the border of Washington and Idaho raked in $200,000 revenue in a single day.

I think those sorts of arrests and prosecutions are more than likely police attacking individuals when there’s nothing else to charge them for.

      Right?

Also, not that I’d ever pick MAGA over…well…just about any alternative…but two big ones against the Dems in PA are how tax happy they’ve been over the past 20-25 years, as well as privatization of liquor sales.

Again, in these days of MAGA, I’ve been pretty much voting straight ticket, but my god to I want to strangle every politician who feeds us the, “Well actually you get better selection, prices, and availability with this system!” as if nobody ever goes to other states.

Surprisingly your local state government isn’t doing a whole lot of overseas bombing or arms shipments.

Perhaps the commenter is referring to Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) who has been a staunch supporter of Israel’s “defense” in Gaza.

That truly is one of the saddest things I’ve seen recently, and one of the biggest betrayals from people I supported.

Still, thank fuck Dr. Oz isn’t in office.

Not that they’re correct, but Pennsylvania is home to Magnum Research who are the makers of the Desert Eagle. So they definitely have been doing some arms shipments.

Do they still make Desert Eagles for the military? Every person I’ve ever talked to that’s used one in service says it’s painfully unwieldy and one of the worst guns they’ve ever used

Edit: also, according to Wikipedia, the Desert Eagle is manufactured in Pillager, MN

Also according to the same article, only Portugal’s GOE and Poland’s GROM still use them in service

You’re correct… but… Most of the republican party is also pro-genocide so I fail to see your point?

I’d disagree to an extent. I believe there is a limit to what the Democrats will support while Republicans are trying to bring on the rapture. Especially since that is what daddy- Putin wants so we get distracted from his own genocide on a people that actually need the help.

But, that’s what happens when the only other option is religious fanatics openly supporting totalitarianism. The Democrats can get away with anything right now because there is no other option.
