I swear this is related but I was at the orthodontist 's today and I was surprised that they had marked my file as male and with my preferred name (I’m a trans male and I haven’t legally changed my name and gender yet), and it got me thinking about how China’s medical system handles cases like these and if there are discrepancies between different records, and also their less-than-stellar handling of gender-affirming legislation.
