Well, it's finally gone. - eviltoast

Boost for Reddit is finally down. Can’t wait for Boost for Lemmy to launch. So far I’ve enjoyed my time here. Thanks for keeping it going everyone.

Is Liftoff a Boost clone? That’s what I’ve been mostly using so far, and it’s not bad.

I think Jerboa is a better one because the UI looks more like Boost. But Boost for Lemmy is already being produced so no worries.

Liftoff is a fork of Lemmur, one of the two oldest Lemmy apps (next to Jerboa). Lemmur was archived some time ago and is now unmaintained. Liftoff was now created as a new fork and updated to the current Lemmy version.

Ah, I see. Well kudos to Liftoff/Lemmur then. I’ve found this app to be the most solid of all the apps I’ve tried so far. I think I might’ve tried every option available on android except for wefwef. Still haven’t gotten around to trying that one.

I would encourage you to try wefwef, too. If only to complete the collection of Lemmy apps you have experimented with. Mostly because wefwef offers a different UI to all other Lemmy apps, in my opinion. Some might like it, some might not, but it is nice to know what options there are.

But I agree with you. I do not use Liftoff even though I have it installed, but Lemmur was always beautiful and fun to work with in the past. Have fun ;)

Fun fact: When starting Liftoff, you can see an image of a lemmur. That was the original logo of the Lemmur app.

Haha yeah, good point. I’m so close to trying every app that I may as well give wefwef a shot, if only to complete the collection. I’ll give it a go today

Edit: I regret to say that wefwef has failed my tests already haha. I’m on a budget phone, and the scrolling was a little too laggy. It looked like it was rendering at like 15 fps whenever I scrolled. But it did look very nice, if you have a premium phone.
