Hey guys,
we have a unifi network with
1x 24 Fibre Aggregation Pro Switch.
10x48 Port - Pro Switches
5x24 Port - Pro Swichtes.
We enabled IGMP Snooping via the Unifi backend on vlan 17 and our tvs are not playing any stream.
On the switch cli the unifi switches decide randomly which one is the querier, sometimes it was the first ip address in the network and sometimes the last. (streams not working)
Then we added custom config config.properties for each switch and set the querier there.
(config.system_cfg.60223246e184.2=switch.vlan.6.igmp_querier=192.168.1.28) (Still no luck)
Then we executed on the correct querier switch inside the vlan database the command (“set igmp querier election participate 17”) and everything starts working. We can watch tv and iptv works ok.
Problem then was fast leave, by switching through the tv channels on the tv, channels start overlapping each other.
So we added inside of the custom config -> config.system_cfg.245a4c177187.1=switch.vlan.6.igmp_fastleave=true
And everything starts working perfectly, until some time pass by and then the aggregation fibre switch stops forwarding multicast packages, it seems to be randomly but every day.
After a reboot of the aggregation switch, everything works perfectly normal until it happen again.
There is no flooding visible, or any constant port blinking, the hole network works perfectly fine but the mutlicast traffic doesn’t reach any tv, eccept the once connected to the querier switch.
The unifi support is the worst i have ever seen, no online documentation about the setup and after month of asking for help i got nothing.
Can anyone help or give me an example how to correctly configure unifi to work with multicast in 2023?
