I used to think I didn’t really like beans, but when I got an airfryer I decided to see what they’d be like if I cooked them differently. Amazing~✨
Smaller beans become a delicious crunchy topping or filling, highly recommended, but what’s really interesting is those huge butter beans. They’re disturbingly similar to chicken breast when cooked this way, so I cooked up some white rice, cut up some ice cold broccoli, and fried up some butter beans 8 minutes with walnut oil at 400o F
And that’s it! Super simple but so so sooo good.
Thanks for sharing! I never thought about airfrying beans 🤔
The thin bean skins crisp up if you spray them with oil and if you salt them the meat of the bean loses its moisture to become almost chewy. Add some MSG and it’s savory little morsel.
Though other beans cook differently! Garbanzos basically just become little crunchy nuts, while red and black and kidneys are somewhere between the two.
Oooo yummyyy
Ohmygod, airfried chickpeas with some curry powder are my favorite! I need to try other beans!
Interesting… I’m very curious to try out some air fried butter beans! Did you go from canned beans or soak dried ones overnight first?
Just rinsed canned beans - I know soaking dried beans is probably more economical but I’m lazy lol
Haha that’s exactly why I keep both in the house. I think the soaked beans taste better and have a better texture for making into spreads or fried, but sometimes I didn’t realize I needed beans yesterday. For some recipes, cooking them in a pressure cooker with some baking soda seems to do the trick, though.
