I was assaulted and taunted by a business competitor, what to do?
I live in SE Asia, and own a successful business here. One of my key competitors has a high-positioned guy, who’s not the owner, but has become a problem for me. He argued with me in a group chat with industry people and even threatened me there.
A few weeks later, things escalated. I ran into him at a bar, and he taunted me into fighting. He pushed me with his chest and then pushed my neck to provoke me, all while yelling at me. I managed to avoid a physical fight and left the situation, but now I’m concerned.
In here, I can’t do anything legally unless he actually assaults me, and physically fighting back is not an option since he’s an MMA fighter. I’m also unsure if I can avoid him forever or if he won’t look for me. I’m left in a challenging spot, looking for ways to protect both my ego and myself.
I don’t want to jeopardize my business and myself…
Any stoic thoughts would be appreciated.
