So I’m considering removing the shroud and mounting 2x 120x14mm noctua slim fans inplace of 2 87x13?mm gpu fans, from a evga 2080 ti xc (gaming?) card. I’d probably put some blocker underneath to force the air to go up and out.

Would this actually result in lower temps? The issue with the noctua slim fans is that their max RPM is 1800rpm, while the gpu goes up to 2700-2900rpm. So the situation might happen that it’s fine at doing the FE clocks (which this GPU can handle without being too noisy), but be unable to do higher clocks (I got about 1845mhz@262w, but awfully loud).

The problem is that removing the shroud and making it possible to mount the 120mm fans will make it impossible to mount the shroud again. I’m stuck in a ghost S1, so I’m limited to slim fans.
