So I finally got around to watching this film this past Holiday season and, surprisingly, I loved it.

I had avoided it for such a long time as it didn’t really seem like my cup of tea and I’m not a huge fan of old old movies. Yes yes I hear you all grumbling under your breath but try not to judge me. I’ve simply never clicked with the styles of film making of the 40’s, 50’s and to an extent, the 60’s.

Now, I’m not a very emotional man 97% of the time, for better or for worse, but the ending actually got to me and actually did a good job of reminding me that life really is wonderful. Though there are always ups and downs, difficulties and hardships, life is worth it in the end. If you’re having a bad time in your life at the moment or a particularly hard festive season, I do wish you all the best and hope life is kind to all of you. I also fully recommend this movie to everyone.

In the spirit of my post, do any of you have a similar story with a very popular or beloved movie you avoided but came around to loving eventually? (Bonus points if it’s a Christmas movie)

Merry Christmas x
